Kamwenge Mayor refuses to blame police for torture as he re-unites with family
Byamukama said the Inspector General of Police made sure his medical bills were cleared.

Kamwenge Town Council LC3 chairman Geoffrey Byamukama who was recently released after over four months in detention, believes that those who tortured him after arrest were acting on their own.

Byamukama who spoke to NTV from his country home in Saluti village, Kamwenge district, said the police and even  government are not to blame for the severe torture he was subjected to.

Byamukama said the Inspector General of Police made sure his medical bills were cleared.
