World bank calls for aggressive skilling efforts in Uganda

Africa’s Pulse, a bi-annual analysis of the state of African economies conducted by the World Bank, has been released.

It regrets that the modest pace of economic recovery for selected countries such as Tanzania, Ethiopia and Angola, hinged on minerals, may only pick up to 2.4% from average of 1.3% in 2016.

For Uganda’s case, it recommends, faster and specific skilling of its human capital, in the event it enhances the  extraction of  the country’s vast mineral deposits, so much needed to obtain revenue
