Finance Ministry petitions parliament over underperforming accounting officers
The Ministry of Finance petitioned parliament for action on 10 top ranking Accounting Officers, accused of flaws such as diverting of funds, failing to with hold taxes from suppliers and advances to personal accounts among others

Director for Budget, Kenneth Mugambe, says that all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government have now received 90% of the allocated votes in the current 29Trillion Budget.

He says beyond accounting for budgeted resources and sticking to approved work plans, accounting officers must provide the accountability for disbursed resources before end of April, if they are to be retained.
