President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has spoken out about the recent cash bonanzas that he has been giving out to different groups of people across the country.

In a statement released on Sunday morning, the President says this money is meant to help those who want to get out of poverty without borrowing from the Banks.

Museveni also revealed that in the budget of 2018/2019, a total of Ug. Shs. 1.119 trillion had been put aside for OWC, Youth Fund, Women Fund, Micro-finance, NUSAF, PRDP, Luwero Triangle Fund, UCDA and KCCA among other initiatives through which this money is channeled to the beneficiaries.

This mode of dealing with poverty by President movement has attracted sharp criticism with many experts saying it is not sustainable.

He also expressed disappointment with the masses or beneficiaries who according to him have not appreciated the value of this money in terms of redeeming them from poverty.

He also dismissed the notion that opposition people were earning more from the money given by the President saying opposition stronghold areas would in fact miss out because of what he called their ego-centric leaders.
