12:50PM: Jinja by-election was marred by bribery and intimidation - NRM SG Lumumba

After losing the hotly contested Jinja bye-election yesterday, the ruling National Resistance Movement has come out to say the election was marred by voter bribery and intimidation.

According to NRM Secretary General Kasule Lumumba, they have since instructed their lawyers to access the necessary evidence to take legal action.

4:50PM: Senior OPM official arrested over land grabbing

A senior official in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has been arrested for allegedly grabbing a 200-acre farmland in Kazinga Village, Rwentuha Sub-county in Kyegegwa District.

4:30PM: MUK refutes bribery allegations against Dean of students 

Makerere University has refuted bribery allegations against the Dean of students Cyriaco Kabagambe by a one Ronald Ainebyona, a student and former aspirant of the Student's Guild President nominations. 

This follows media reports in which Ainebyona accused Kabagambe of recieving 5.6 million shillings as a bribe to make sure his name appears on the nomination list of those vying guild president post.
